An investigation has been launched by Northumbria Police to determine what happened during the incident and have urged any witnesses to get in touch.She remains in a serious but stable condition with injuries to her ribs and spine, a statement confirmed. A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: Police are appealing for information following a collision outside St James Park last night.At around 10.23pm yesterday (Tuesday), police received a report that a double decker but had been in a collision with a female pedestrian on Barrack Road, Newcastle.Emergency services attended and found the woman, 18, trapped underneath the vehicle. She was conscious but had suffered injuries to her ribs and spine.The woman was subsequently taken to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances behind the incident. Officers are now keen to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision, which occurred shortly after Newcastles 2-1 victory over Manchester City.A number of people are thought to have been in the area at the time of the incident, and police are especially keen for anybody who has dashcam footage of the collision to come forward.Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 1076 290119 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.The incident took place shortly after Newcastle defeated Manchester City in the Premier League, with Salomon Rondon and Matt Ritchie securing the Magpies a shock victory after Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for the visitors.
